Abstract

Based on the low-elevation GPS signal propagation characteristics in tropospheric environment on spherical rough sea surface, this paper revises the initial field model of parabolic equation for GPS signal propagation on spherical, rough and impedance sea surface, focusing on the diffuse scattering of GPS signal on rough sea surface. By comparing with the traditional initial field model under the condition of plane, smooth and conductor sea surface, it is shown that the modified model can describe the GPS initial field distribution more realistically, and based on the modified initial field model, the spatial propagation power distribution of low-elevation GPS signal in the tropospheric duct is calculated.
