Abstract

The effect of different values of Peclet numbers ( Pe θ ≠ Pe y ) on the region of multiplicity in adiabatic tubular reactors is followed. A modification of the mapping technique for this case is proposed. The results of calculation are presented in graphs. For the range of experimentally observed ratios of Peclet numbers the multiplicity region is essentially enlarged with respect to the case Pe θ = Pe y so that current knowledge of multiple solutions in tubular reactors must be revised.
