Abstract

An approximation is described enabling us to transform distributed parameter systems into lumped parameter systems. The range of applicability of this approximation for axial heat and mass transfer in tubular is investigated. Some interesting results as stability of multiple solutions, occurence of limit cycles etc. are presented.
