Modeling of a dual-three-phase induction motor including the effect of stator mutual leakage inductance

Abstract

This paper discusses the modeling of dual three phase induction motor (DTPIM). The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of the stator mutual leakage inductance on the modeling of such machine in steady state and dynamic operation. This study incorporates two models. First, the effects of mutual leakage inductance between the two stator windings sets are simply neglected. Second, the mutual leakage inductance has been included. The two models have a good performance but, circulating harmonic currents originate from mutual leakage coupling between the stator windings appear.
