Abstract

A slit-loaded truncated-corner suspended rectangular patch antenna is analyzed using the equivalent circuit approach. The proposed antenna shows wideband behavior with dual circular polarization. The antenna provides an impedance bandwidth of 38.80% in the frequency range of 4.47–6.62 GHz. The 3-dB axial ratio bandwidths are 5.18% in the frequency range of 4.89–5.15 GHz and 2.45% in the frequency range of 6.43–6.59 GHz. The theoretical results are validated by method of moments (MoM)-based IE3D simulations and experimental results, revealing good agreement among the theoretical, simulated, and measured results.
