Abstract
This paper briefly describes a newly designed stepless transmission to cope with external loads. A detailed computer model is presented to investigate the technical feasibility of the proposed dismantling scheme. The selected key design variables and constraints are those relevant for the practical application of a small wind turbine gearbox. The corresponding dynamic model was developed using ADAMS. Simulation studies and preliminary discussions were conducted to validate the proposed design solution.
