Abstract

In this paper, a stop band frequency selective surface (FSS) is proposed involving square patch. This square patch consists of a cut section of circular and rectangular shapes. The resultant slotted square patch have the capability to resonate at four frequencies at 3.36 GHz, 4.96GHz, 7.28GHz and 9.24GHz respectively. The design is compact as reduction in area by 88.7%, 75.4%,46.9% and 14.58% is achieved. Experimental results are matched with the analytical modelling and validated with simulation results. Simulation is done using Ansoft HFSS EM simulation tool while experimental set up used an Agilent Technologies vector network analyzer. Implementation of Back Propagation algorithm is included in this work which also validate the experimental resonant frequency values.
