Abstract

On this paper data from Doerpinghaus (Doerpinghaus, 2002) were fit to a standard FOV fluid in 1D, correspondent to a fractional Maxwell fluid. The data are based on transient uniaxial extension experiments (then converted to relaxation modulus G(t) and compliance creep modulus J(t)) and dynamic oscillatory experiments. It has been shown in this work that this fractional viscoelastic model with three parameters can have good fit results, obeying thermodynamic restrictions and is able to show a correlation between the parameters narrow window values and the molecular weight typical of metallocene catalyzed polyethylene.
