Abstract

Seeker is widely used in literature of radar. The goal of this paper is designing a dual mode monopulse antenna for seeker. The dual mode technology is widely used in passive and active seekers. In this technology, antenna radiation and infrared sensor are used for target detection. Thus, the angle of target in azimuth plane is precisely detected. In this paper, a dual mode slot array antenna in X-band for an active seeker is designed and optimized. The Main lobe of the antenna is only in azimuth plane and does not shift with frequency variation. The gain of the antenna is suggested to be 23dBi for the best detection. We select the type of the antenna due to the available results in the literature. Then, designing of the antenna is done step by step. Simulation and optimization of antenna are performed by CST studio suite software.
