Abstract

The vast majority of the world’s concrete infrastructure was built around the middle of the twentieth century, and for the most part is now approaching an age of half a century or more. In many cases, the structures are showing signs of degradation mechanisms such as corrosion of the steel reinforcement, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), and freeze-thaw.KeywordsCouplingDegradationElectrochemical potentialMulti-ionicTransport modellingThermo-hydro-mechanical models
