Abstract

Depletion in fossil fuel resources necessitates to research on alternate energy sources. Wind is one of the most adaptable non-conventional resources to produce electric energy and also decreasing CO<inf>2</inf> emission in order to minimize environmental pollution. This paper projects about the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) along with converters for wind energy conversion system. The major aspect is to feed the alternating power to integrate the wind energy source with grid system. There are so many variations in wind speed and load. Due to these variations, the wind energy source cannot integrate with grid. So the dc link voltage between the converters should maintain a reference value so that output voltage of inverter maintains constant value. The DC-DC converter uses Proportional-Integral (PI) controller to retain the stable dc voltage at DC link capacitor. The PI controller reduces steady state error and rise time but increases overshoot, settling time of the system. Further, PI controller is to be modified with fuzzy logic controller. The mathematical modeling of PMSG is done in MATLAB/Simulink. The described method is simulated in this paper. The obtained results are proved that the fuzzy logic controller maintain constant dc value and the output signals are in phase with each other.
