Abstract

Heat pumps can utilize various sources of heat to increase the temperature of a room or water. This study uses solar energy as a heat source for high-temperature heat pumps. The type of heat pump used is a vapor compression heat pump and is used to produce steam. The study created a model and simulation of a heat pump combined with solar energy. System modeling is divided into three subsystems: solar collector, thermal storage, and a heat pump—the WinDali program used in heat pump simulation. The Simulation results show a close relationship between solar intensity and system performance. The maximum COP obtained is 1.32. The heat pump can generate steam for 7.25 hours, and the lifted temperature obtained is 28°C.
