Abstract

In a hybrid system of renewable energy, particularly in the autonomous one, lead-acid batteries are typically used to store the surplus energy and to deliver it to the load when solar radiation and/or wind are insufficient. In this work, the unit storage is modeled and its functioning is simulated under Matlab/Simulink environment. This unit storage is composed by a lead-acid battery connected to DC bus through a DC/DC bidirectional converter. This latter ensures the voltage adaptation between the battery and DC bus using the proposed control strategy. The obtained simulations results are satisfactory and demonstrate the performance and robustness of the presented topology.
