Abstract

Natural fiber composites are been widely used in many applications, because of their mechanical properties, ease of fabrication, bio degradability and low cost. In this work three parameters such as nano clay loading (wt%), speed (rpm) and curing time (Hr) were considered for banana/jute hybrid polyester composite. Box behnken design with three parameters and three levels was chosen and the mechanical properties of the hybrid polyester composite plates were evaluated. From this study, nano clay loading has been found to be the most dominant parameter which influence the mechanical properties. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) display the model was statistically significant and thus the model can be effectively predict the tensile, flexural and impact strength.
