Abstract

Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is one of the main production modes of the advanced manufacturing industry. As an important part of FMS, logistics system impact on the overall system performance directly. A small FMS logistics system is modeled by Petri net, and its working process simulation and optimization using the particle swarm optimization, PPS-PPR encoding method is studied. The results showed the algorithm can improve the efficiency of the logistics system compared with traditional genetic algorithm, can use shorter working hours and improve equipment utilization, and improve the productivity of the entire FMS.
