Abstract

The transport of solid particles within fluid flows occurs in many fields related to industrial processes and environmental applications. In fact, it plays a role in nuclear safety, air pollution and wind transport of mineral dust or surface contamination in electronics (alteration of microelectronic devices). The general context of this work deals with the modeling of two-phase flows (solid / liquid). The work carried out concerns the understanding and the modeling of the mechanisms of transport of solid particles in a fluid. The approach of the phenomenon is made using analytical and numerical ways by using the method of Runge Kutta. The goal is to establish a numerical code, using the FORTRAN language, which makes it possible the determination of the trajectories of solid particles in a fluid flow. The objective is to investigate the effect of fluid velocity and particle diameter.
