Abstract

Multiple transmitters are widely used to solve the problem of lateral misalignment between coils in wireless power transfer (WPT). The effective control method is one of the guarantees to improve the performance of the WPT system. Based on theoretical modeling and mechanism analysis, this paper proposes a novel switching control method to select the optimal transmitter, which includes the control criteria of single transmitter and dual transmitters. Compared to other control methods of using coupling coefficient, the proposed method is easier to implement switching control and improves system reliability. The experimental results show that the proposed switching control method can effectively select the optimal working mode and increase lateral misalignment tolerance for the WPT system.
