Abstract
Compartmental Model is a system which can be applied to many physiological kinetic researches such as absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of some materials in vivo. As an aspect of system identification, it gets the widest application in the biomedical field. We have applied the modeling and identification methods of compartmental system to the study of the mechanism of acupuncture anaesthesia, the comparison of curative effect of new antibiotics, Furbenicillin and currently used carbenicillin, selection of the most suitable therapeutic designs, calculation of the distribution of radionuclide 147PmCl3 in vivo based on elimination data, estimation of the plasma protein binding rate of drugs, etc. We believe that modeling and identification of compartmental systems would play an increasingly important role in the biomedical investigations.
