Abstract

This paper first discusses the electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise in multiphase power electronics systems using symmetrical component theory and EMI theory. The theory for multiphase noise separators is developed. Multiphase noise separators are characterized by S-parameters based on symmetrical component theory, S-parameter theory, and EMI theory. A circuit is proposed for multiphase noise separators and techniques are explored for a high-quality design. A prototype is built, tested, and evaluated using the developed theory. The prototype is finally used in a practical EMI measurement.
