Modeling and analysis on coupling of electrical machines

Abstract

In many real time heavy weight lifting applications such as cranes and elevators need more uplifting power with constant speed. To obtain these criteria, multiple machines working in motoring mode should be coupled in a single shaft. Multiple machines working in generating mode is coupled in a single line at many power plants for large generation. So for coupling of multiple electrical machines in motoring and generating mode modeling helps to analysis the performance of machine working and further research. This paper mock-up the electrical machines coupling by mathematical modeling. The simulation of modeling is performed by MATLAB/SIMULINK software platform. Therefore the different testing can be performed without any real time hardware expenditures.
