Abstract

In order to protect the water environment of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site and maintain the sustainable development of its tourism industry, this paper analyzes the surface water quality of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site from 2014 to 2018 by using the single pollution index method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. The results showed that: 1) TN, FC, TP and NH3-N exceeded the class I water quality standards by 19.6, 17.5, 12.6 and 2.6 times, respectively, and were the main pollutants in the water of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site. At the same time, the water quality of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site gradually decreased from class II to class V in five years, with a significant downward trend. 2) The water quality changes in Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site are related to the tourists' unconsciousness and bad behaviors, the continuous expansion of tourism scale, the cultivation of ornamental fish and the direct discharge behavior of domestic sewage. On the whole, the water quality of Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage Site has declined obviously and the pollution is serious. Moreover, the deterioration of water quality is closely related to tourism.
