Abstract

The detailed models, which indicate the dynamic processes of mega-kilowatt pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plant (NPP), have very high order. They are difficult to be appied to the medium-to-Iong term simulation of power system, so the reduction of their order is of great value. A new strategy, which deals with the physical thermal circuit and the control system separately, is proposed in this paper according to the structure and operation of PWR. Then, the dynamic responses, with and without the influence of main pump, are carefully studied using the detailed models. It is shown that only the change of the flux is needed to consider particularly in the modeling of coolant circuit. Finally, the method of reduction and identification is presented for each individual link of the original detailed models.
