Abstract

This paper deals with the adaptive control of a steam temperature process with time delay, time-varying parameters and disturbances in a 325 MW peak regulating BTG set. After obtaining the parameters of this steam temperature variation process by field test and analyzing the correlativity between the influences of the parameter variations and disturbances on Smith Dead Time (SDT) predictor, a model reference adaptive prediction controller is developed. It has been proved that the remarkable feature of the proposed method is that it not only reduces the affect of parameter variations, but also gives a better transient responses and zero steady state error to step or slope disturbances. A practical design and some experimental results for the studied system are given to illustrate the effectiveness of proposed method.
