Abstract

Based on the model reference approach and Popov's hyperstability theory, several adaptive control laws are derived in a simple and unified manner. The concepts of hyperstabi1ity theory and model reference adaptive control systems are introduced by means of a first order constant linear system. The theory is then applied to the design of adaptive controllers for manipulators having complex and nonlinear dynamics.
