Abstract

This paper exhibits the use of recently proposed mixed model reduction method to a MIMO power system model. This method is a combination of two popular model reduction methods which are balanced realization and factor division methods. It is used to overcome the problem of balanced realization technique such as steady state problem. In this method, the balanced realization technique is used for evaluating the denominator of the simplified system and the numerator is derived by factor division algorithm. This methodology guarantees the stability of the reduced system and preservation of static behavior of the original model. A standard multi-variable system is taken from the literature for illustrating the effectiveness of the suggested technique.
