Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the diversity of the population of persons with visual impairments, the changing role of the orientation and mobility (O&M) specialist, and the broadened definition of O&M. An overview is provided of best practices and model demonstration programmes with which to provide O&M services to a diverse population of persons with visual impairments.
