Abstract

The bidirectional AC/DC converter is a key device for bidirectional power conversion between AC and DC side. Its fault tolerance performance is an important guarantee for the reliable and stable operation of the power conversion system. In order to improve the fault tolerant operation performance, a model predictive direct power control strategy with central point voltage balance and the switching frequency reduction is proposed. On this basis, the cost function with the central point voltage balance and the switching frequency reduction additional items is established, the two-step prediction model is adopted to realize the time delay compensation. The simulation results show that the three-phase four-switch bidirectional AC/DC converter has good steady state and dynamic performance as well as robustness. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategies is verified.
