Abstract

With the development and promotion of satellite technology and the increase in the number of satellite, moving targets tracking and observation by multiple satellites has received considerable attentions. However, the unknown and variability of target motion makes it difficult to plan the multi-satellites observation mission. Aiming at this problem, a mission planning method based on model predictive control is proposed in this paper. Considering the observation reward and the information gain of target distribution, a mission planning model is established and the optimization objective is designed. Then, the rolling optimization method is used to solve this optimization problem. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed mission planning method is superior in terms of reducing uncertainty and tracking moving target.
