Abstract

Power systems have interconnected structures and increased system complexity in terms of the order of the system. The simulation of such a large system is computationally expensive and memory intensive. This issue can be addressed through model order reduction techniques. Two area power systems of order-11 has been considered to elucidate the effectiveness of model order reduction (MOR) techniques. This work presents a comprehensive simulated case study of two area power systems with different MOR techniques, addressed with modified bound and preserved physics of the original system.
