Abstract

A model has been developed for studying the hydrodynamic process in the ‘electric arc-melt’ system taking into account the conditions of melting, movement and crystallization of the melt in the weld pool in the variable force field of the arc created by the modulation of welding current. The conditions are established for the crystallization of the weld-pool molten metal providing the obtaining of the disoriented fine-grained structure of the weld metal.
