Model of fatigue failure of layered panels in propagation of through and transverse cracks

Abstract

1. A model was constructed and a calculation method developed for calculating the endurance of layered panels during the propagation of through and transverse cracks from a minimum number of experimental data. 2. Computer experiments showed that the adaptation capability of the proposed models of fatigue failure is satisfactory. 3. It is necessary to carry out experiments to increase the accuracy of Eq. (2) for the through crack and select more accurate values of the coefficients in Eqs. (3), (4) and (6) in the case of propagation of the transverse crack.
