Abstract

Smartphone is a smart phone that has capabilities like a computer and is equipped with a sophisticated operating system. Smartphones provide many benefits for users, besides that smartphones can also cause psychological problems for users, namely nomophobia. Nomophobia is a feeling of dependence on smartphones and causes excessive anxiety in someone which is caused when the smartphone is not around. In this study, a mathematical model of the spread of nomophobia will be formed. The purpose of the formation of this mathematical model is to see how the spread of nomophobia. The method used in this study is a descriptive method, namely, analyzing the theories relevant to the problems discussed. The results of the analysis of the mathematical model of the spread of nomophobia obtained two equilibrium points which indicate that this model is asymptotically stable in the case of a disease-free equilibrium point and an endemic equilibrium point. The simulation results show that within a certain time the spread of nomophobia will disappear.
