Abstract
This paper proposes a detailed and annotated model law on prohibiting conversion practices. Conversion practices, also known as conversion or reparative therapy, attempt to alter people’s gender identities or sexual orientation and/or make them cisgender and/or heterosexual. The proposed model law seeks to improve upon existing legislation, which is insufficiently specific. The paper includes details annotations explaining the rationale for including each provision of the model law and wording them in this manner.
