Abstract

A kinetic theory approach to collision processes in dense gases and liquids is presented. The nonlinear collision operator is constructed in terms of the first few moments of the distribution function and contains both a reversible and an irreversible part under time inversion. The advantage of this model is that the linearized equations can be solved exactly. The kinetic equation is used to discuss various problems in the long‐wavelength regime, and it is shown that it reproduces many of the properties of dense systems.
