Abstract

In this study model predictive control (MPC) structure has been proposed to control the continuous distillation column. Using system identification toolbox in MATLAB, the SISO model developed, to confine the dynamics of continuous distillation column derived from simulated data of ethane and ethylene separation process obtained in DaIsy database. Controlled variable is Bottom product composition and manipulated variable is reboiler heat duty. Using the simulation program of the continuous distillation column tuning parameters of the DMC has been calculated. Dynamic matrix control (DMC) based on non parametric model used to track the bottom product composition of ethane-ethylene distillation column. To realize the DMC system the optimum distillation column, dynamic values of the tuning parameter were used for top product composition control experimentally and theoretically.
