Abstract

Currriculum development is an effort to determine the contens of the plan, Lesson material, and how to implement it must be adjusted to the times, students and objectives of an instutions, the curriculum will change according to the times with the need of the instution, and the development will not be development, the institute will miss the curriculum was developed not in accordance with the wishes of the manager but based on : - Educational obejectives – Student and community Factors – As well as material to be supported. The purpose of this study are : 1- Knowing the foundation of curriculum 2- knowing the curriculum model 3- knowing the principles of Arabic Curriculum Development. This research uses a type of Qualitative Research or field research which means to interpretation things that occur in the field and to understand the development of curriculum, foundation, models and principles of the Arabic Language Curriculum. The result of study are : 1. Foundation for curriculum development, which was published : a. philosophical foundation b. psychological foundation c. sociological Basic d. Organizational basic and e. language basic. 2. Arabic language development Curriculum model, which contens : a. Academic Subject b. humanistic c. social reconstruction d. Competency-based technology 3. The principle of developing the Arabic language curriculum, provided : a. Relevance b. Efficiency c. Effectiveness d. Sustainability e. Flexibility f. Objective orientation. The finding of this study are : Improving the theory of Arabic language curriculum development, must argue, saying not only by curriculum developers but also by lecturers,teachers or educators, by understanding the curriculum, especially Arabic, then the direction and purpose of education becomes clear, by paying attention to the following : - The foundation of Arabic language curriculum development – The model and concept of Arabic language curriculum development – Principle of Arabic language curriculum development.
