Abstract

A compartment model for the transport and distribution of trace metals around atmospheric trace metal sources was modified for lysimeter conditions. The modified model calculates the total atmospheric trace metal deposition rate from the pollutant concentration on the plant surface. Calculations were performed for copper, cadmium and lead as trace metals and grass as the lysimeter plant. Lysimeter experiments were carried out in polluted and unpolluted regions. Model results are compared with experimental data.
