Abstract

Abstract A passively soliton mode-locking using Platinum (Pt) as a seed, in generating pulse in figure-8 configuration is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The generation of soliton mode-locking is obtained due to the intracavity dispersion. Pt saturable absorber (Pt-SA) together with an erbium doped fiber (EDF) generate a soliton mode-locking pulse train with a repetition rate of 2.83 MHz and pulse width of 1.48 ps at central wavelength of 1531.7 nm.
