Abstract

We demonstrate a multiple-wavelength erbium-doped fiber sigma laser, actively mode-locked at a repetition rate of 960 MHz. Time-bandwidth products of 0.3 and 0.31 are obtained for pulses at 1538 and 1541.5 mn, respectively. Wavelength separation is tunable from 3.5 to 24 mn. Amplitude fluctuations less than 0.5 % and high-frequency timing jitter less than 68 fs (1 kHz to 1 MHz) are measured.
