Abstract

The eigenequation for a metal-coated planar chiral dielectric waveguide is derived. The effects of chirality on the cutoff, the dispersion characteristics, and the field distributions are investigated. The results show that chirality causes twists in the dispersion curves, as well as mode jumping. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 26: 137–140, 2000.
