Abstract
The engine hood covers the engine and protects against dust and other foreign particle entering into the engine. It also absorbs the noise and vibrations generated by the engine due to excitation. The hood should withstand the buckling load and if it is not stiffened enough to absorb the vibration at certain conditions such as rough road condition and at higher speed. The 3 – D model of the conventional car hood is generated using the CATIA software, later on it’s been meshed using Hypermesh software. At next required set of results were obtained by using ABAQUAS for free – free condition. In order to compare the result, Experimental modal test was conducted using original component. Results are compared and were agreeing with each other for both the condition
