Abstract

Dry spores of Anemia phyllitidis contain 56% lipids of which 86% are triglycerides. The major fatty acids of these triglycerides are oleic and linoleic acid. During the spore germination process the triglycerides are being mobilized. The formation of new cells is correlated with an increase in the synthesis of phospholipids which are rich in linolenic acid.
