Abstract

Expeditious manufacturing growth in automotive parts supply are facing new challenges that require the production system to be responsive and transparent. The concept of agile system design has been proposed in response to meet the needs of manufacturers seeking new approaches to deal with rising complexity in production line. The research presented in this paper explores several strategies and procedures have been incorporated to generic model that links directly with the simulation and optimization process. The research will led to a new approach for dealing with uncertainty and complexity of inventory problems and contributes not only understanding in this area but applicable to other sectors.
