Abstract

Hall mobility of positive holes μ in YBa 2Cu 3O 7−y (YBCO) thin films has been studied in the temperature range of 10K–320K as a function of the wide range oxygen deficiency y (0≤y≤0.7) and the ordering of oxygen ions in the CuO chain site. One common contribution independent of y for μ is extracted. This indicates no change in the band effective mass and the intrinsic scattering time in spite of the drastic change in spin system relative to oxygen content. Carrier-spin interaction seems not to be dominant mechanism of the intrinsic band conductivity.
