Abstract
Poly [2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1, 4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV) is an important polymer material. However, the low carrier mobility of MEH-PPV limits its applications. Graphene is a two dimensional material with very high carrier mobility. In this letter, we report increasing the mobility of MEH-PPV by blending it with graphene nanosheets synthesized by the arc discharge method. Both the hole and electron mobilities of MEH-PPV blended with graphene nanosheets increase monotonically with the blending content. The increase can be as high as one order of magnitude at blending content of about 2.5%. Little fluorescence quenching is observed in the graphene blended MEH-PPV.
