Abstract

Wireless virtualization is an emerging approach to utilize the limited wireless resources effectively to support massive number of wireless connections and devices for different applications like mobile cyber physical system (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT).With increasing use of mobile CPS and IoT, there will be an exponential rise in the demand for wireless services. Wireless virtualization is regarded as an important alternative to meet the demands of different applications, where wireless services are provided to end users (in CPS or IoT) via mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) that are created adaptively using data about users and their demands. In this paper, we propose adaptive data-driven wireless virtualization by creating MVNOs, where the cloud based controller assembles the right set of physical base stations and RF slices to meet the quality of service (QoS) constraints of the users by using mobility prediction and QoS requirements of the users. Numerical results obtained from simulations show that the proposed data driven approach outperforms the static approach for wireless virtualization.
