Abstract

This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of mobile-based activities in a normal classroom on learners' motivation for foreign language learning. In addition, we would like to propose practical teaching materials for mobile-based classroom settings. More specifically, the current study is concerned with the effect of shadowing activity with the help of movies on oral reading proficiency and awareness toward foreign language study. The result was that oral proficiency significantly improved between pre- and post- tests and that the students' awareness was changed toward more communicative way. Detailed description of the movie contents and the system model will be given. In conclusion, implication for future application program research will be pointed out.
