Abstract
Abstract The present process focuses on the extraction of heavy oils from their particle support (clay, silt, sand) with hot water. The goals of this hot water extraction process are two‐fold: to clean the contaminated solids (sand, clay, silt) sufficiently so as to render them innocuous and to return them to the location from which they were removed; and to recover the heavy oils for energy generation.
