Abstract
This study proposes a gesture recognition system to operate a mobile robot with a natural user interface between man and machine. In this system, five gestures are used for the operation, and they are presented by the continuous movements of human's right hand. We use features estimated by Fourier transform for movements of right hand. But, this method has some time delay. So, we propose a gesture recognition system combined by the method using the position and movements of right hand estimated in a short time. In the experimental results, time delay is reduced and the gesture recognition is improved by our proposed method.
