Abstract

Statistical analysis of the questionnaire data 215 children aged 6–10 years showed that the excess of the number of mobile phone (MP) conversations over than 2–6, and of the total time of conversations more than 5–10 minutes in day is associated with the risk for children to become «often ill with colds». It was found that the time parameters of the MP use in 35–44 % of the surveyed children exceed these critical values. Measurement of the power flux density (PFD) of MTs of modern 78 children aged 7–9 years showed that in 35 % of them, the PFD exceeds the norm for adults (100 μW/cm2). The results indicate insufficient control over the intensity of radiation and the time modes of MP use in children, as more than a third of them have parameters which pose a health hazard.
